How does CATS Integrate with BambooHR?
Purpose: To help you understand what CATS is used for and how you can integrate it with BambooHR.
CATS is a full feature applicant tracking system that handles job posting to external job boards, as well as candidate interaction and management.

Before you get started, you will need to create an API key in BambooHR. You will use this API key later during set up.
After logging into your CATS account, locate the gear icon in the upper right-hand corner of your screen. Click on this icon and then click on the "Administration" link from the drop-down menu. On the Administration page, click the "Integrations" link.
Locate the BambooHR Integration and click on the "Off" toggle. This will then open up a pop-up window where you will enter the following:
- Subdomain: This is the first part of your BambooHR login URL. For example, if my BambooHR URL is https://helpcontent.bamboohr.com, then my subdomain is "helpcontent" as shown in the image above.
- API Key: This is the API Key you created before you started enabling the integration.
Once you have entered this information, click the blue "Save" button. Your configuration of the integration is now complete!
First, you will need to add a trigger to your CATS workflow in order to add the employee to BambooHR. To do this, navigate to Settings in the top right corner and click "Administration", then select "Workflow."
Once viewing your workflows, hover over the status of when you'd like to add the employee to BambooHR. For example, in the screenshot above, I am adding the employee to BambooHR once he or she is hired. Click the "+" icon that appears. In the pop-up window, under "Action" select "BambooHR-Add Employee." Now you will be able to add an employee to BambooHR once he or she is hired.
You can adjust your workflow to allow for the employee record to be sent to BambooHR in any one of the status phases. Simply hover over the desired status and add the trigger accordingly.
Now that your workflow is set up, view the record of the candidate you would like to export into BambooHR. On this overview page, click the "Log an Activity" button. Select the option for "Hired." A BambooHR checkbox will then appear to the right of the Status section of your window. Ensure that the box is checked, and then click the blue "Save" button. The employee will be marked in CATS as "Hired" and their information will be exported over to BambooHR, automatically creating a new employee record for them in BambooHR.
