Translate Custom Fields and List Values
How can I translate my custom fields and list values?
Purpose: To teach you how to add translations for custom fields and list values to provide a better BambooHR experience for your employees who speak other languages.
We translate standard fields in BambooHR on our end. However, you can add translations to your list values or custom fields and tabs (Professional or Advantage package) by going to Settings and clicking Account, then Translations.
To add translations to your list values or custom fields and tabs, follow these steps:
- Select the desired language from the drop-down menu.
- Click on a tab to display its field translation options.
- Translate any needed tab names.
- You will see this icon if a field is a drop-down list. Click on the icon to add a translation for each list option.
The red dot alerts you of any needed translations in the corresponding tab.
If you do not have Translations under the Account section in Settings, please contact our Customer Support team to have this feature added for you.

Please note that account administrators are responsible for translating titles of any custom fields by navigating Settings, clicking Account, and then selecting Translations. Additionally, the percentage of core field translation within BambooHR varies for each language.
*We do not currently include email alerts in any translations.
