Is there a Widget on Home for Tracking Hours Worked?
Purpose: It is quick and easy to track your hours worked on Bamboo Home. This guide will show you how to use the Timesheet widget to easily track your hours worked through BambooHR Time Tracking.
Time Tracking Widget
If you are using BambooHR Time Tracking, the Time Tracking widget is probably the number one reason you are logging in to BambooHR. This is why we display the widget in the top left corner right below your basic information. Depending on how your employees track their hours worked in BambooHR, your Time Tracking widget will look different.
Below today's time entry, you will see the total for the week and pay period. Additionally, clicking "My Timesheet" will take you to your Timesheet tab on your employee profile.
Single Daily Entry Widget
To enter your hours worked, simply click in the box and enter the amount* worked. Then click "Save to Timesheet." Once you enter your time worked, you will see a note icon appear. Clicking this icon will allow you to enter a note associated with the time worked.
*The amount can be entered as a decimal or hh:mm entry. Once it is entered, it will display as 00h 00m.
Multiple Daily Entries (Without Time Clock)
Simply click "Enter Hours Worked" and enter in the time segment.* The note icon will also appear allowing you to enter a note associated with the time worked. Once each time segment is entered, history will be tracked in the widget and on the timesheet.
*The amount should be entered as hh:mm.
Multiple Daily Entries (With Time Clock)
To start tracking your hours worked, simply click "Clock In" in the Time Tracking widget. Once you are clocked in, the timer will start and all totals in the widget will start counting up. If you are currently clocked in, you can hover over the clock and click the add note icon to add a note with your time entry. (see below) Click "Clock Out" to stop the timer and have your hours worked recorded.
Please note you will not be able to clock in if you have a future manual entry. For example, if I enter time manually for this afternoon but I want to use the time clock this morning, then I need to wait to enter my time manually for this afternoon until after I have clocked out this morning. This prevents manual time entries from overlapping with the time clock.
Below the "Clock In/Clock Out" button, you will see a summary of the current day's entries. If you've added a note to an entry, you will see the note icon appear. Additionally, you will see an option to manually "+Add Time Entry." This option will only show if you are not currently clocked in.
If a clock in entry spans midnight, we will automatically clock out the employee and then clock in the employee on the next day. So for example, if the employee clocks in at 10 PM on Monday and clocks out at 3 AM Tuesday then the entries would be: Monday 10 PM- 11:59 PM and Tuesday 12:00 AM - 3:00 AM.
