Missed Payroll Processing Deadline

Purpose: The deadline for processing payroll is 12:00 PM Pacific Time two* days before your pay date. This help guide will show you how to submit payroll for processing if you miss the deadline.

Payroll Deadline

Payroll must get approved by 12:00 PM Pacific Time two business days* before the pay date. In some instances, you can submit payroll for processing if you miss the deadline. Additional charges will apply to late payroll submissions.

*You may be required to approve your payroll four business days before the pay date. Please contact our Payroll Support team if you are unaware of your funding schedule. 

Late Payroll Deadline [$25 fee, 12-2:00 PM (PT)]

Go to Payroll Center on the top toolbar and click Run Payroll to open your current payroll. If you are late to approving or reopening a payroll (meaning the payroll is selected after 12:00 PM (PT) on the day of the processing deadline), a box will appear with three options from which you can choose.

  1. Push Pay Date out 2 business days: You have the option to push your pay date out two business days. The new pay date will show as part of this option. 
  2. Push Pay Date out more than 2 business days: You have the option to enter another date as the pay date. It must be more than two business days away. 
  3. Pay $25 fee for special processing to retain Pay Date: You can choose to pay a $25 processing fee to keep your original pay date. 

After making your selection, click Submit to begin processing your payroll.

Missed Payroll Deadline [$100 fee + code required, 2-3:30 PM (PT)]

Go to Payroll Center on the top toolbar and click Run Payroll to open your current payroll. If you have missed your payroll deadline (meaning the payroll is selected after 2:00 PM (PT) on the day of the processing deadline), a box will appear with three options.

  1. Push Pay Date out 2 business days: You have the option to push your pay date out two business days. The new pay date will show as part of this option. 
  2. Push Pay Date out more than 2 business days: You have the option to enter another date as the pay date. It must be more than two business days away. 
  3. Pay $100 fee for special processing to retain Pay Date: You can keep the pay date, but with an additional fee. You must contact Customer Support no later than 3:00 PM (PT) to get an authorization code to continue. Payroll must get approved by 3:30 PM (PT).

If you have missed your payroll run, company admins (who have the Payroll Reminders/Feeds Notification checked) will receive an email notification reminding them that they missed the deadline. It will also include a Submit Payroll button enabling you to log in and complete your missed payroll run. This email notification will send every processing day at 12:15 PM (PT) to anyone who missed payroll that day.

Overdue Payroll Run

If you have not submitted your payroll run in time, there will be an Overdue Payroll Run section in your Payroll Center. You will have the opportunity to push your payroll date ahead two days in the future. Click in the Pay Date box, select the new payroll date, and click Save Changes. As long as the pay date is within an appropriate range, you can proceed as normal with running your payroll.  

If you do not plan to process an overdue standard payroll, please reach out to our Customer Support team. If you do not plan to process an overdue manual payroll, click Delete on the left-hand side.
