How do I Update my Account Settings?

Purpose: To teach you how to update your Account Settings.

To update your Account Settings, click on the photo avatar in the top right corner and follow the steps as shown above. 

  1. Timezone: By default, your timezone will automatically be set to the timezone set for the account until your Location has been added to the Job Information table on your employee profile. Please note that you will only have the option to update your timezone if you are working in a remote location as set by your administrator. 
  2. Language: This will automatically be set to "Use Browser Default" but you can change this to one of our supported languages.
  3. Birthday: Sharing your birthday lets your coworkers celebrate with you! Your birthday will automatically show in the calendar, iCal feeds, Celebrations widget, mobile app, and you will be included in the birthday email alert. If you toggle this setting off, your birthday will not show in any of the options listed above. However, it will still appear on your employee profile for those who have access to this information through access levels.

Be sure to click "Save Settings" once you make your changes. 

Timezone and BambooHR Time Tracking

If you are using BambooHR Time Tracking, setting the timezone is important so we know when an employee's pay period starts and ends. By default, an employee's timezone is the company's timezone. However, once an employee is assigned to a Location then they will be recognized as being in that location's timezone. If an employee doesn't have a location or is part of a remote location, the employee will need to edit their timezone as seen above.
